In Greene County district court Brett Tyler Adams, 34, of Webster City was sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one county of theft- first degree. The case was initiated in September, 2019. The prison term is concurrent to terms in Boone and Webster County cases. Adams was fined $1,000. He is jointly and severally liable co-defendant Logan Staley for $30,780 victim restitution. Court costs were $1,109.68. A charge on ongoing criminal conduct was dismissed. Also dismissed as part of the plea agreement were charges of burglary- third degree and theft- second degree in a separate Greene County case. (Sentencing: Honorable Adria Kester).
Elizabeth Celine Fischels, 32, of Webster City was sentenced to seven days in jail after she changed her plea to guilty to a charge of possession of methamphetamine. The jail time was suspended and she was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. She must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any recommended treatment at her own expense. Fischels was fined $315 with a $47.25 surcharge. Court costs were $100. Information is available that Justin Ray Lopez, 22, of Jefferson has been charged with possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense, failure to affix a tax stamp, and child endangerment. The warrant was issued April 27 and returned July 19.
